Salvage Food Guide Affiliate Program Terms and Conditions

Effective Date: September 22, 2026

These Affiliate Program Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern participation in the Salvage Food Guide Affiliate Program (“Program”). In these Terms, “we,” “us,” and “our” refer to Salvage Food Guide, and “Affiliate,” “you,” and “your” refer to the person or business participating in the Program.

By applying for, joining, or participating in the Program, you agree to these Terms.

1. Affiliate Program Overview

The Program allows approved affiliates to earn commissions by referring customers to Salvage Food Guide through a unique affiliate tracking link.

Participation in the Program is subject to our approval. We may accept or reject an application at our discretion and are not required to provide a reason for our decision.

2. Affiliate Commission

Approved affiliates earn a commission equal to 30% of the net purchase price paid on qualifying sales attributed to their affiliate link.

The net purchase price excludes:

  • Sales tax and similar government charges
  • Discounts, coupons, and promotional credits
  • Refunds, returns, and chargebacks
  • Payment-processing fees when deducted from the transaction
  • Shipping or delivery charges, if applicable

A commission is earned only when:

  • The customer uses your valid affiliate link;
  • The purchase is completed within the applicable tracking period;
  • Payment is successfully received and not refunded or disputed; and
  • The transaction complies with these Terms.

Commission rates may be changed upon advance notice. Any change will apply prospectively and will not reduce an eligible commission already earned before the effective date of the change.

3. Thirty-Day Tracking Cookie

Our affiliate links use a 30-day tracking cookie.

When someone clicks your affiliate link, the tracking cookie generally remains active for 30 days. If the person completes a qualifying purchase during that period, the sale may be credited to your affiliate account.

Unless otherwise stated by our affiliate platform, attribution is based on the most recent valid affiliate referral. If the customer clicks another affiliate’s link before purchasing, credit may be assigned to the later referral.

We cannot guarantee that every referral will be tracked. Tracking may be affected when a customer:

  • Deletes or blocks cookies;
  • Uses a different browser or device;
  • Uses private or incognito browsing;
  • Disables tracking technology;
  • Waits longer than 30 days to purchase; or
  • Completes the order without the tracking information being preserved.

We will not manually assign commissions when reliable tracking information is unavailable, except at our discretion when clear supporting evidence is provided.

4. Commission Approval and Payment

Commissions remain pending until the related transaction has cleared any applicable refund, chargeback, fraud-review, or verification period.

Approved commissions will generally be paid monthly through the payment method supported by our affiliate platform. Affiliates are responsible for providing accurate payment and tax information.

Payments may be delayed or withheld when:

  • Required payment or tax information is missing;
  • A transaction is being reviewed for fraud or abuse;
  • A refund, dispute, or chargeback is pending;
  • The Affiliate may have violated these Terms; or
  • Payment is restricted by law or by the payment provider.

You are responsible for any fees charged by your bank, payment service, or currency-conversion provider.

5. Refunds, Chargebacks, and Cancellations

No commission is payable on a refunded, cancelled, fraudulent, or charged-back transaction.

If commission has already been paid on a transaction that is later refunded or reversed, we may:

  • Deduct the amount from future commissions;
  • Apply a negative balance to your affiliate account; or
  • Request repayment of the commission.

6. Affiliate Disclosures

Affiliates must clearly disclose that they may receive compensation when someone purchases through their affiliate link.

The disclosure must be easy to notice, easy to understand, and placed close to the affiliate link or product recommendation. It must not be hidden on a separate page, placed only at the bottom of a long post, or buried among hashtags.

An acceptable disclosure may state:

“Disclosure: I may earn a commission if you purchase through this link, at no additional cost to you.”

For short social-media posts, a clear disclosure such as “Ad,” “Sponsored,” or “Affiliate link” should appear prominently near the beginning of the post.

Affiliates must follow all applicable Federal Trade Commission endorsement and advertising requirements, platform rules, and other applicable laws.

7. Permitted Promotional Methods

Affiliates may promote Salvage Food Guide through lawful, honest methods, including:

  • Websites and blogs;
  • Email newsletters sent to consenting subscribers;
  • Social-media accounts;
  • Videos and podcasts;
  • Educational articles and product reviews;
  • Reseller, liquidation, grocery, and small-business communities where promotional links are permitted; and
  • Other promotional channels approved by us.

All claims must be accurate and must reflect the Affiliate’s honest opinions and experiences.

8. Prohibited Promotional Practices

Affiliates may not:

  • Make false, misleading, deceptive, or unsubstantiated claims;
  • Guarantee business success, profits, sales, income, financing, licenses, permits, or regulatory approval;
  • Claim to be an employee, legal representative, partner, or official spokesperson for Salvage Food Guide;
  • Send spam or unsolicited commercial messages;
  • Post affiliate links where advertising or affiliate links are prohibited;
  • Use misleading redirects, forced clicks, cookie stuffing, hidden links, pop-ups, adware, spyware, or similar techniques;
  • Place tracking cookies without a genuine user click;
  • Create fake reviews, testimonials, endorsements, or social-media engagement;
  • Misrepresent the price, contents, benefits, or availability of our products;
  • Copy or republish our paid products or substantial portions of our website content;
  • Distribute unauthorized coupons, discount codes, or promotional offers;
  • Bid on our brand name, trademarks, domain names, or confusingly similar terms in paid search advertising without written permission;
  • Register domains, social-media usernames, or business names containing “Salvage Food Guide” or confusingly similar wording;
  • Use our branding in a way that suggests an official website or account;
  • Purchase through your own affiliate link to receive a commission;
  • Encourage friends, relatives, employees, or associates to make artificial purchases intended primarily to generate commission; or
  • Engage in conduct that could harm our customers, reputation, website, or business.

9. Email and Text-Message Marketing

Affiliates using email or text-message marketing must comply with all applicable laws and regulations, including consent, identification, disclosure, and unsubscribe requirements.

Affiliates may not represent that an email or message was sent by Salvage Food Guide unless we have provided written authorization.

Purchased, scraped, harvested, or improperly obtained contact lists may not be used to promote our products.

10. Intellectual Property

We grant approved affiliates a limited, nonexclusive, revocable, nontransferable license to use promotional materials we provide solely for participation in the Program.

Affiliates may not:

  • Alter our trademarks or logos without permission;
  • Claim ownership of our content or branding;
  • Use our intellectual property outside the Program;
  • Create unauthorized derivative products; or
  • sublicense our materials to another party.

All rights not expressly granted remain the property of Salvage Food Guide.

11. Product and Earnings Claims

Salvage Food Guide provides educational information. It does not guarantee that a customer will successfully open or operate a salvage grocery business or achieve any specific financial result.

Affiliates must not promise or imply guaranteed:

  • Revenue or profit;
  • Business approval or licensing;
  • Supplier access;
  • Product availability;
  • Customer demand;
  • Financing; or
  • Return on investment.

Any discussion of earnings or business results must be truthful, supportable, and accompanied by appropriate context explaining that individual results vary.

12. Customer Relationship

Customers referred through the Program are customers of Salvage Food Guide. We control product pricing, order processing, fulfillment, customer support, refunds, and other customer policies.

Affiliates may not collect payments on our behalf or make commitments to customers that differ from our published policies.

13. Affiliate Relationship

Affiliates are independent contractors. Nothing in these Terms creates an employment, partnership, franchise, agency, joint-venture, or fiduciary relationship.

Affiliates are responsible for:

  • Their own business expenses;
  • Their own equipment and promotional activities;
  • Maintaining any necessary licenses or registrations;
  • Reporting and paying applicable taxes; and
  • Complying with laws that apply to their activities.

Affiliates have no authority to enter into an agreement or assume an obligation on behalf of Salvage Food Guide.

14. Monitoring and Compliance

We may review affiliate websites, advertisements, social-media posts, emails, and other public promotional materials to verify compliance.

We may request that an Affiliate modify or remove content that violates these Terms or could reasonably harm our business. The Affiliate must promptly comply with such a request.

Suspected fraud, abuse, deceptive advertising, or unlawful activity may result in immediate suspension while the matter is investigated.

15. Account Suspension and Termination

Either party may end the affiliate relationship at any time.

We may suspend or terminate an Affiliate immediately for:

  • Violating these Terms;
  • Fraudulent or suspicious activity;
  • Misleading customers;
  • Improper use of our intellectual property;
  • Spam or unlawful marketing;
  • Cookie manipulation or artificial referrals;
  • Conduct that harms or could reasonably harm our reputation; or
  • Failure to provide requested compliance information.

After termination, you must stop using our affiliate links, trademarks, logos, and promotional materials.

Valid commissions earned before termination may be paid after review. Commissions connected to fraud, prohibited conduct, or violations of these Terms may be cancelled to the extent permitted by law.

16. Changes to the Program

We may modify, suspend, or discontinue the Program, commission rate, cookie duration, payment schedule, eligibility requirements, or these Terms.

Material changes will be communicated through the Affiliate’s registered email address, affiliate dashboard, or Program webpage. Continued participation after a change becomes effective constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

17. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Program, tracking system, links, website, products, and promotional materials are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim warranties regarding uninterrupted operation, error-free tracking, specific sales volume, commission earnings, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and noninfringement.

We do not guarantee that participation will result in traffic, customers, sales, or income.

18. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Salvage Food Guide will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, punitive, or consequential damages, including lost income, lost profits, lost data, or loss of business opportunity arising from participation in the Program.

Our total liability arising from the Program will not exceed the unpaid commissions properly owed to the Affiliate during the six months immediately preceding the event giving rise to the claim.

Some jurisdictions do not permit certain limitations of liability, so portions of this section may not apply to every Affiliate.

19. Indemnification

To the fullest extent permitted by law, you agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Salvage Food Guide and its owners, employees, contractors, and representatives from claims, losses, damages, liabilities, penalties, and reasonable legal expenses arising from:

  • Your promotional activities;
  • Your violation of these Terms;
  • Your violation of law or third-party rights;
  • Misleading or unauthorized claims made by you; or
  • Your misuse of our content, trademarks, links, or promotional materials.

20. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.

Any legal action arising from these Terms or the Program must be brought in a court of competent jurisdiction located in California, unless applicable law requires otherwise.

21. General Provisions

These Terms constitute the entire agreement concerning participation in the Program and replace previous discussions or representations concerning the Program.

If any provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision does not waive our right to enforce it later.

An Affiliate may not assign or transfer participation in the Program without our written permission.

Headings are provided for convenience and do not affect interpretation.
